Buffers vegetados na retenção de sedimentos em paisagens agrícolas: uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

A intensificação das atividades agrícolas tem ampliado os processos erosivos e o transporte de sedimentos para os corpos hídricos, comprometendo a qualidade da água e a sustentabilidade dos agroecossistemas. Nesse contexto, os buffers vegetados destacam-se como uma estratégia eficaz para a mitigação desses impactos. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a eficiência dessas estruturas na retenção de sedimentos e seus efeitos na qualidade da água em paisagens agrícolas, por meio de uma revisão sistemática da literatura. Para a seleção dos estudos, aplicou-se o protocolo Methodi Ordinatio, considerando critérios de relevância, fator de impacto, número de citações e ano de publicação. A busca foi realizada nas bases Science Direct, Web of Science e Scopus, resultando em um portfólio final de 35 artigos. Os resultados indicam que a eficiência dos buffers na retenção de sedimentos é elevada, frequentemente superior a 90% em condições adequadas de dimensionamento e posicionamento na paisagem. Observou-se que fatores como largura da faixa, composição vegetal, declividade do terreno e intensidade das chuvas influenciam diretamente na eficiência de retenção. Além disso, verificou-se que sistemas vegetados multifuncionais, com uso de gramíneas e leguminosas, podem associar benefícios ambientais à geração de biomassa e retorno econômico ao agricultor. Neste sentido, pode-se concluir que os buffers vegetados constituem uma solução eficaz e adaptável para o controle da erosão e a proteção da qualidade da água, sendo sua eficiência condicionada à adequação às características locais e à integração com práticas de manejo sustentável.
